Description

Meet fellow New Metrics '19 attendees and SB Corporate Members before the conference kicks off by joining us for a private tour of Philadelphia’s Rail Park!

Friends of the Rail Park, in partnership with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and Center City District, revitalized an 1890 viaduct that carried passenger and freight into Center City until 1984. Until June 14, 2018, the elevated structure, which provided spectacular city views, was abandoned to weeds and disrepair. Friends of the Rail Park and partners were drawn to the project with aspirations to support residential and light commercial development in the surrounding area, 32-percent of which still remains vacant and undeveloped.

The Philadelphia Rail Trail was one of the urban greening projects sponsored by Timberland as part of its five-year commitment to create 500,000 square feet of urban green spaces. At the heart of Timberland is a core belief that a greener future is a better future. To build on that belief, in addition to its urban greening commitment, Timberland has also committed to plant 50M trees by 2025 – adding to the 10M trees the brand already planted. Timberland’s global consumer campaign called Nature Needs Heroes, launched this fall, calls on consumers to join the movement for a greener world. Together we will Plant the Change™️.

RSVP to reserve your spot by Thursday, November 14. Limited availability.

Attire: Casual. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and plan for inclement weather.

Getting there: Meet in the lobby of the Loews’ Philadelphia Hotel at 2:00 PM.
